ANNOUNCES INITIATION OF QUARTERLY CASH DIVIDEND
PORTLAND, Ore. — October 26, 2006 — Columbia Sportswear Company (NASDAQ: COLM), a global leader in the active outdoor apparel and footwear industries, today announced that its board of directors has authorized the initiation of a quarterly cash dividend, and the Company declared a quarterly dividend of $0.14 per share of common stock to be paid on November 30, 2006 to its shareholders of record at the close of business on November 16, 2006.
Tim Boyle, Columbia’s president and chief executive officer, commented, “We have demonstrated from our historical results that we have the ability to return value to our shareholders in multiple ways, through investment in organic growth, through opportunistic acquisitions and through share repurchases. We believe our business provides sufficient free cash flow to continue to invest in our growth strategies and also to pay a dividend to our shareholders.
