Our products have gained worldwide recognition for their innovation, quality, and performance. We design, develop, market, and distribute outdoor and active lifestyle apparel, accessories, and equipment under our brands, Columbia, SOREL, Mountain Hardwear, and prAna.

Our deep commitment to designing innovative products is what guides our research and development efforts and it is this passion that has allowed us brand to conceive and develop novel, functional gear for outdoor enthusiasts around the world.

We leverage established working relationships with experts in chemistry, biochemistry, engineering, industrial design, materials research, graphic design, and other related fields, as well as the expertise of our internal team of specialists to create award-winning technologies For the Columbia brand, examples include Omni-Shade, Omni-Freeze, Omni-Heat Infinity, and OutDry Extreme.

When designing new products and technologies, we also place significant value on consumer feedback and we take these into consideration to ensure that our products meet the needs of consumers who take part in a wide range of outdoor activates and provide maximum comfort by keeping them warm, cool, dry, and protected wherever they may go.

Operations

Our operations are divided into four geographic segments: United States ("U.S."), Latin America and Asia Pacific ("LAAP"), Europe, Middle East and Africa ("EMEA"), and Canada. Each geographic segment operates predominantly in one industry: the design, sourcing, marketing, and distribution of outdoor, active and everyday lifestyle apparel, footwear, accessories, and equipment products. 

U.S.

U.S.

In the U.S., we sell our products through a mix of over 1,850 wholesale customers and through our own DTC business. At December 31, 2023, our U.S. DTC business consisted of 143 outlet retail stores, 18 branded retail stores and four brand-specific e-commerce websites. In addition, we earn licensing income in the United States based on our licensees' sale of licensed products. In 2023, our four largest U.S. wholesale customers accounted for approximately 20% of U.S. net sales.

LAAP

LAAP

In the LAAP region, we sell our products through a mix of wholesale customers and through our own DTC businesses in China, Japan and Korea and to independent international distributors across the LAAP region. We have nearly 350 wholesale customers, including distributors, in LAAP. In 2023, our four largest LAAP wholesale customers accounted for approximately 15% of LAAP net sales.

EMEA

EMEA

In the EMEA region, we sell our products through a mix of wholesale customers and through our own DTC business as well as through independent international distributors who sell our products across the EMEA region.

We have over 3,400 wholesale customers, including distributors, in EMEA. In 2023, our three largest EMEA wholesale customers accounted for approximately 15% of EMEA net sales.

Canada

Canada

In Canada, we sell our products to nearly 550 wholesale customers and through our own DTC business. In 2023, our two largest Canada wholesale customers accounted for approximately 25% of Canada net sales.

Our executive leadership team is comprised of seasoned individuals who have been a part of the company for several decades. We recognize our success is fueled by the dedication and focus of our approximately 10,070 employees.
